DO I NEED TO BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?

No.  This is a walk-in clinic where you can always be seen without an appointment between 3pm - 7pm. Wait times rarely exceed 15 minutes. Peak hours are 3pm – 5pm.  Mornings are available by appointment only, and are usually reserved for new patients or those who require extra time.  Call or book online for appointments between 8am - 3pm.

I AM A NEW PATIENT. DO I NEED TO BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?

No.  Your first visit includes paperwork, history, exam and first treatment. This appointment usually takes 20 - 30 minutes. The cost is $90. X-rays are rarely needed. If you have a copy of previous spinal x-rays and/or a report, please bring them. When required, x-rays are an additional $50.

DO PATIENTS HAVE TO COMMIT TO A LONG-TERM CARE PLAN?

No. Most new patients receive an initial recommendation of 6 visits. While many patients feel much better before the end of 6 visits, it is still recommended to complete the initial program for best results. However, this is up to the individual – and not a requirement.

HOW DO YOU TREAT LOW BACK PAIN?

Most cases of Acute, Uncomplicated Low Back Pain will respond well to manual treatments. Spinal Adjustments (AKA manipulation), with some specific trigger point work, will usually produce a positive outcome. Success rates for low back pain are very high. More complicated cases may require a combination of our physio-modalities such as electrotherapy, ultrasound, and laser. Examples of complicated cases include: Severe pain from recent injury, chronic moderate pain that has been months or even years in duration, or where extensive muscular adhesions are suspected to be the cause.

HOW DOES A CHIROPRACTOR TREAT MUSCULAR ADHESIONS?

Graston Technique (GT). Special stainless-steel instruments identify and treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis and chronic inflammation. The goal is to break up scar tissue and eliminate the adhered fibers. The result is restored motion and elimination of the pain associated with it. GT will rebuild your soft tissue injury into healthy, functioning tissue.

DOES OHIP COVER ANY OF THIS?

No.  Employer Sponsored, or Private Health Insurance Benefits, usually provide all the coverage needed.

CAN YOU BILL MY INSURANCE COMPANY DIRECTLY?

Yes.  Most insurance policies have great coverage for chiropractic services. Almost all of them allow for direct billing from the practitioner. In the case where only a certain percentage is paid, your co-pay becomes due upon completion of the visit. Most insurance companies have very user-friendly online options for those who prefer to submit themselves. In that case, we would issue you a statement with all the information you need.

WHY DO MOST CHIROPRACTORS WANT ME TO GET ORTHOTICS FOR MY SHOES?

Orthotics can be important for some patients. As we age the arches in our feet may not work as well as they used to. Small changes in your feet can cause a chain reaction of muscle imbalances that can affect the entire framework of your body. If you have localized foot, knee, hip, or chronic low back pain – restoring the arches could be the key to prevention. A computerized analysis will show us if you are a candidate. All orthotics are guaranteed for a 90-day trial and are fully refunded if not tolerated.

CAN THESE TREATMENTS HELP HEADACHES AND MIGRAINES

Yes.  Headache and Migraine sufferers make up the third largest patient segment in most Chiropractic offices. Low Back and Neck Pain being first and second. It is estimated that 80% of headaches are “cervico-genic” – meaning it starts in your neck. Specific neck x-rays are usually indicated for patients who have significant headaches.

DO YOU DO MORE THAN JUST ADJUST PEOPLE?

Yes.  For those who need it, we offer a full range of electrotherapy, ultrasound, laser therapy and comprehensive myofascial treatments. For many patients, those interventions are only needed in the initial acute phase. At a certain point in a someone’s recovery those modalities may become unnecessary, and adjustments could be the only intervention used. We always consider the individual’s feedback when making those decisions.
