Neck Pain and whiplash can cause headache, numbness, coldness or “pins and needles” in the face, chest, arms, wrists or hands. They can also result in anxiety, insomnia, ear ringing, dizziness, hearing loss, eye pain, blurry vision, sensitivity to light and other symptoms.
Research shows that chiropractic care is highly recommended for neck pain especially in Grades 1 and 2 (which includes the majority of neck pain sufferers). Many multidisciplinary physician groups now incorporate chiropractic care as part of their “team” approach to neck pain. They have seen the value of spinal manipulation because it’s safe, beneficial, and cost effective!
What is Graston Technique?
Along with traditional Spinal Manipulative Therapy, also known as Chiropractic Adjustments, Dr. Barzo specializes in Graston Technique to address the soft tissue (aka muscular) component of one’s injury. Graston is a non-invasive modality using specially designed stainless steel instruments to identify and treat areas of fascial restriction, otherwise known as scar tissue. The goal is to rebuild your soft tissue injury into healthy functioning tissue. Most patients have a positive response by the third or fourth treatment.
What is Laser Therapy?
Laser Treatment (also known as phototherapy and low-level laser therapy) involves the application of low power coherent light to injuries and lesions to stimulate healing and reduce pain. It is used to increase the speed, quality and strength of tissue repair, resolve inflammation and give pain relief. Low level laser technology has been found to offer superior healing and pain relieving effects compared to other electrotherapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, especially in dealing with chronic problems and in the early stages of acute injuries. Low level laser technology is a complete system of treating muscle, tendon, ligament, connective tissue, bone, nerve, and dermal tissues in a non-invasive, drug-free modality.
